Parking in Toledo
Driving in Toledo is complicated, it is not a city designed for vehicles, the peculiarity of its streets as well as the effort to preserve the old town of the city as it was conceived hundreds of years ago make it very difficult for cars to travel through its streets.That is why one of the frequently asked questions that we always answer to customers of our apartments is where to park in Toledo.
Toledo has three forms of parking in the city
We are going to leave several options on how to park in Toledo without losing your nerves or your wallet in the attempt.
Free parking
First of all Toledo has free parking areas, all of them are outside the walls of the old town, but Toledo is a small city and although partly walled it is well connected with easy access from the lower part of the city.
The best option if you don’t want to pay for the ORA area or a private car park are the following free car parks near the old town.Remember that Toledo is a very safe city but it is always good to take recommendations when leaving cars parked on public roads. Do not leave valuables in sight and remember to lock your vehicle well.
FREE PARKING IN TOLEDO
ROMAN CIRCUS CAR PARK
Free parking is located next to the Roman Circus of Toledo and the Venta de Aires restaurant. With large capacity it is a good option. Near the car park there are also escalators that give direct access to the old town via a pleasant 15-minute walk .
PARKING OF TOLETUM
Free parking next to the Salto del Caballo very easy access if you arrive from the Madrid road. It is a 20-25 minute walk to the old town but on busy days it can be a free option to take into account for your visit to the city of the three cultures.
AZARQUIEL PARKING
Free parking in front of the AVE station and next to the Tagus River that can accommodate a large number of cars, vans and caravans of visitors and locals. Crossing the Tagus River there is a short walk to the Plaza de Zocodover of about 15-20 minutes walking. The views are spectacular.
SANTA TERESA CAR PARK
Free parking with a large capacity located in the popular neighborhood of Santa Teresa next to a very popular and busy area of bars, restaurants and shops common among Toledoans. From the Santa Teresa neighborhood to the old town of Toledo it is a 20-minute walk.
SAFONT CAR PARK
A large parking area in front of the Toledo bus station. Close to the escalators that give access to the old part of the city. If you leave by car in the Safont car park there is a small 10 minute escalator to the square.
The cheapest payment option is undoubtedly the Safont car park next to the bus station. The price per hour 0.40€ Remember that Toledo is a very safe city but it is always good to take recommendations when leaving cars parked on public roads. Do not leave valuables in sight and remember to lock your vehicle well.
Parking in Toledo: regulated area (ORA)
You can pay for regulated parking with parking meters with the Telpark mobile application or in cash at the green posts located near the regulated area.The schedule for this type of parking is:Monday to Friday:- – from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- – from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- – from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The old town of Toledo has regulated parking areas that differ into three colors
- Green – Neighbors Exclusive
- Blue – Regulated parking maximum 2 hours
- Orange – No time limit
Car parks in Toledo - PARKING
The city has several privately managed car parks with a large capacity within the old town. All of them are within the monumental area and are a good option if you want the comfort of going up to the old town by vehicle. The price of the full day is around 22€ Here are some parking options.
